Troubled star seems to be going through another meltdown

Amanda Bynes has been telling the media that she’s engaged to a 19-year-old mystery guy, that she wants to have his children ASAP and retire from showbiz completely, and that she has a microchip implanted in her head, which allows people to read her mind. She wants them to pay her for this “service” she’s providing.

On Twitter, the troubled star has been singing an entirely different tune, claiming that the magazine running these quotes from her, InTouch Weekly, is lying. Admittedly, she’s hired legal representation and will be suing them.

Good luck with that, a spokesperson for the magazine seems to be saying.

The only liar here is Amanda Bynes

You will find some of Amanda’s tweets on the topic embedded below: she’s basically trying to argue that she’s being set up and that InTouch, along with a couple other publications, are out to ruin her by shamelessly lying about her.

She also accuses them of trying to make her look “insane,” which she isn’t. She’s just “really smart,” whatever that means, and she will “laugh all the way to the bank” because she’ll be making money hand over fist when she wins the case against them.

That will never happen, because the only liar is Amanda, a rep for InTouch says in a statement. Amanda really did give them an interview and she really is that troubled as to say all these things which are obviously not true (i.e. about her engagement, the microchip, and some other stuff about her parents).

“After identifying themselves, two of our reporters spent the afternoon with Amanda Bynes on Sunday, Oct. 5. She was aware that they were from Bauer. At one point, she even discussed writing a column for the magazine. Every word of our account is accurate and we hope that Amanda gets the help that she needs,” the statement from InTouch reads.

This is actually a repeat situation

This is a classic case of he said – she said, with all signs pointing to InTouch as the party speaking the truth. As strange as this might sound, this isn’t the first time that something like this happens with Amanda.

In July 2013, she was arrested and placed on involuntary hold pending a psychiatric evaluation, after she tried to start a fire in a woman’s driveway and nearly burned her own dog alive. Before that, there’d been months of erratic behavior and run-ins with the law.

At one point, a reporter from InTouch spent a day or more with her and the account was published in the magazine, just like it happened now. Amanda first tweeted to confirm the story, but when the more gruesome details started coming out in print (her drug use, the fact that she was living in squalor, etc.), she accused the mag of lying and threatened to sue.

Do you see the similarity now?

Amanda Bynes probably needs professional help

After her arrest, Amanda spent months in and out of psychiatric units in hospitals and rehab centers. She was diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, and received treatment for drug addiction and emotional issues as well.

At the end, her parents went to court and asked a judge to rule she was unable to care for herself, so she was placed under a conservatorship, which ensured she would be always under her parents’ watchful care.

The conservatorship ended last month and was not extended. Shortly after, Amanda moved out of her parents’ house and then back to New York, from Los Angeles.
