Zynga, the extremely successful social gaming company, has confirmed that it will soon release Mafia Wars 2, the sequel to one of its older titles, complete with 3D graphics and a variety of new adventures for players.

Zynga made a name for itself with hugely addictive casual titles like FarmVille or CityVille, but it's slowly starting to release more serious experiences like the recent Empires & Allies.

Now, the company is working on its first sequel, in the form of Mafia Wars 2, which has now been confirmed by Zynga with the first few details and a teaser video.

While the first Mafia Wars relied heavily on players forming mobs and interacting with each other, not to mention doing jobs and crimes in a largely text-based experience, the sequel is set to be a different kind of beast.

Under the "Being bad never felt this good" motto, Mafia Wars 2 is going to have 3D graphics, as players will be able to move around a graphical and open world during their adventures. No word yet on how this new visual design is going to look, sadly, as Zynga is still tight-lipped about revealing anything ahead of schedule.

A teaser video is also available, depicting the motivation of players who need to create their own criminal empire and exact revenge on their rivals, while becoming the most powerful criminal out there.

Zynga has a pretty tough act to follow with this sequel, as the original Mafia Wars reached a peak of 28 million monthly users, and is now frequented by around 5.1 million on Facebook.

Still, considering how Zynga sees around 148 million active monthly users across all its games and how it's not shy about bringing in celebrities to promote its titles, Mafia Wars 2 is almost certain to be a huge success.

More details, as well as a release date, will be available "soon," according to Zynga, but you can enjoy the teaser trailer below.

Zynga sucks. I've been playing Mafia Wars for the last 1 and a half years. They always brings crap in to their game. They never interested in fixing bugs. Only thing they noticed is ways to attract money.

What will happened to the existing players of Mafia Wars. They won't say anything. One day they will close it like they are always doing.

I agree Zynga doesn't like to fix bugs, they act like you never reported it,sometimes they give up a sympathy gift, but never fix anything..it's frustrating to play and play and then find bugs that you can't get rid of,then you hear they got something new, truly sucks, With so many bugs in mafia wars,I just wonder how you can get excited over it,When the first one works like crap,I don't hear them saying this one will be bug free.
