Recent reports in the media have it that Lourdes, pop star Madonna’s daughter, has just enlisted for acting at a prestigious US school.
Word in the industry has it that, while Lourdes would have wanted to be an actress long before now, because of her mother, known for being stricter at home than your regular mom, it is only now at 14 that she will eventually get to see her dream come true. Apparently, the first step in that direction has already been taken, with Lourdes enlisting for classes at the New York drama school.
The move was possible because she and Madonna moved back to Manhattan after the singer separated from her husband, British film director Guy Ritchie. The school is the same prestigious institution that also had Macaulay Culkin, Scarlett Johansson and Sarah Jessica Parker as alums.
“Lourdes is desperate to become an actress and has joined Manhattan’s Professional Children’s School. She is determined to prove herself and plans to throw herself into studying the technique.” sources are telling media outlets about the determination of the young Kabbalahist. It is an already known fact that, almost a year ago, Lourdes was approached to play a minor part in “The Secret Life of Bees,” but she later turned the offer down because Madonna would not let her know stardom and fame at such a tender age.
Born in 1996, Lourdes is the daughter of Madonna and fitness trainer Carlos Leon, whom the singer dated for a couple of years, long before meeting Guy. Leon is often seen out and about with Lourdes, but the teenager has grown up with her mother, her soon to be ex step father and two brothers. As for Lourdes’ acting ambition and the talent she may or may not have inherited from her mother, save for a couple of exceptions, most of Madonna’s films turned out to be utter failures and her acting skills have been not just once highly criticized.
