The other day, Madonna's estranged brother Anthony Ciccone spoke to the media to make a very startling revelation: he was homeless and living under a bridge, while she led a lavish lifestyle. A possible explanation for his situation may have emerged.

In an interview with a publication from Michigan, Mr.s Ciccone seemed to blame his millionaire sister for the state he was in, saying it was ridiculous for her to have this huge fortune while he feared he might die in the streets.

The same question was probably on everybody else's mind: how could Madonna let her brother starve in the streets when she had so much money to spare.

An unnamed family source claims Madonna and the rest of the family have done everything in their power to help Anthony get back on his feet but, every time, he just throws the chance out the window.

The root of all evil is drug abuse, says the insider as cited by MonstersAndCritics.

“He has had multiple opportunities and we have done so many things and committed so many resources to get him help,” says the family source.

“We've done so much over the past 15 years and attempted to help him but he has done nothing to help himself. There is nothing more we or anyone else can do. He is where he is because of himself,” adds the insider.

Blaming his problems on his family is typical of Anthony and he'll use this opportunity to soak in media attention – because that's what he does best, the insider goes on to say.

“He has had more help than 95 percent of the people out there, there is nothing more we can do. Anthony will take this media attention as far as he can,” says the same source.

If true, this would contradict what Mr. Ciccone was saying in the original interview, in which he claimed he was only speaking out because he wanted people to know the truth about his family – and not because he wanted Madonna's money or to cash in on her fame.
