First fashion and now music. Lourdes, the teenage daughter of the Queen of Pop Madonna, will soon be a pop star walking in her mother’s footsteps, with none other than Madonna herself as a mentor, it has emerged. Lourdes even has a first single recorded, though it’s yet to see the light of day,
The Sun says, citing unnamed but reportedly reliable sources.
Madonna wants her daughter to be a singer like herself, and she’ll be using all her star power to make it happen, the tabloid reports.
“The track is called It’s So Cool and Madge is in two minds over whether to feature it on her next album or the soundtrack to her new movie about US socialite Wallis Simpson and her relationship with Edward VIII,” The Sun says.
It was initially penned and recorded in 2003 but, until not long ago, it did not feature Lourdes’ voice. In February, Madonna and her daughter hit the studio and re-worked it in the hope it may be Lourdes’ debut single.
“Madonna hopes Lourdes will step into her shoes and become one of the biggest female artists in the world,” an insider who claims to be well familiar with plans for Lourdes’ music career says for the tab.
“She’s the perfect mentor for her daughter and is keen to assist her first steps into the industry. Lourdes has a great voice and plenty of character – like her mum,” adds the unnamed spy.
There’s even more: with a single recorded and ready to go out at a moment’s notice, it seems like the teenager doesn’t lack career options either: The Sun says that several major record labels have already shown great interest in signing her.
On the other hand, since neither Madonna nor Lourdes has said anything of this so far, until official word is out on the teen’s pop career, this is nothing more than pure speculation.
