Fans of the “Twilight” vampire film have had plenty of rumors coming their way regarding the much-hyped sequel for it, “New Moon.” They can now add another such report to the ever increasing pile, as rumor in the industry has it that Madonna will also be involved in the production in a double capacity, as both singer and actress.

The hearsay was ignited when Ryan Seacrest reportedly told E! that Guy Oseary, Madonna’s manager, was also executive producer for “New Moon.” At the same time, Seacrest also hinted that Oseary was doing all he could and pulling all strings to get the singer on board the sequel. Madonna, on her part, is said to be equally thrilled about the prospect, hoping she will get both to work on the soundtrack and act in the film, as Seacrest teases.

Calls for comment with Madonna were not immediately taken. However, industry insiders are saying, knowing Madonna’s obstinacy in proving herself as a real actress, it’s very likely that there is some truth in the report, even if she’ll only get a minor part or just a few seconds of onscreen time. If this fails, it is further being added, getting just one of her tracks on the soundtrack of “New Moon” would still qualify as an impressive feat, since the score for “Twilight,” the first film in what will prove to be a successful franchise, performed unexpectedly well in both national and international charts.

Speaking of which, another act that is eager to jump on the “New Moon” bandwagon is the teen sensation the Jonas Brothers band. Just recently, the boys spoke to MTV and revealed that they had been contacted for a song on the soundtrack. They also used the opportunity to state that, though they had not seen “Twilight” yet on account of their busy schedule, they were big fans of it.

“The movie was obviously a huge success, and if they asked us to be a part of [the sequel], that would be great.” Nick Jonas told MTV. “It would be really cool,” he added, while Joe and Kevin agreed, “That would be really cool.” As of now, negotiations are still underway and no definite understanding has been reached. “New Moon” drops in theaters on November 20, which also means that it won’t be long until all these rumors are confirmed or infirmed, whichever be the case.
