Even if figures show, without a doubt, that Adele is one of the hottest artists to break into the spotlight in many years, it's the amount of stars who would want to work with her that confirms it. Madonna is just one of them.

In a recent interview with ITV that airs today, the Queen of Pop says she'd love nothing more than the chance to work with the British Grammy-winning singer, the Daily Mail informs.

Not only that, but she even considered Adele when she was making plans for her much-mediated Halftime performance at the Super Bowl, which eventually included Nicki Minaj and M.I.A.

“Yes, I would love to. I would love to meet her, I think she’s brilliant, I love her,” Madonna gushed in the aforementioned interview.

As for the Super Bowl performance, that was not doable because of the health issues Adele was struggling with at the time.

“I wanted her to be in the Super Bowl with me, but I think she was having her throat problem or throat operation or something,” Madonna explains.

Of course, as fans must already know only too well, she's not the only one to voice a desire of working with the most talented and popular newcomer.

However, Madonna is the first A-lister to come to Adele's defense when fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld called her “fat” in an interview in which he was supposed to be talking about how much he loved her music.

“That's horrible. That's ridiculous, that's just the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard... Adele's a great talent and how much she weighs has nothing to do with it,” Madonna said at the time.

Her words came right after Karl had apologized for the slip of the tongue, saying he considered Adele a very beautiful woman with a divine voice, regardless of her weight.
