Queen of Pop refuses to perform if fans smoke in the venue

Madonna performed in Chile the other day but, as the two videos included with this blog post can confirm, the show did not take place without incidents. Madonna took some time out during soundchecks to reprimand smokers in the venue.

*Please note that the video above contains two instances of language that might offend.

The bottom line is that Madonna can’t sing if someone’s smoking, so she threatened the fans in the open-air arena that, if they did not put out their cigarettes right that instant, she’d walk out.

“Someone's smoking right now. No smoking. If you're gonna smoke cigarettes, I'm not doing a show. You don't care about me, I don't care about you. I'm not kidding. I can't sing if you smoke. Entiendes?” Madonna is heard saying.

“If you love me then don't smoke. No smoking! You're looking right at me while you're smoking cigarettes. Like I'm a [expletive]-ing idiot,” she added.

She walked off the stage afterwards, but returned to perform as scheduled. I’m thinking the smoker eventually chose to pay heed to Madge.
