A couple of months ago, the disappointed Queen of Pop announced that she would never take an acting part in her life. She blamed her huge box-office flops (save one or two exceptions) not on her poor acting skills, but on the way the public reacted to them. 'I hate to admit it, but I've decided to give that up. How can any film survive if everyone's saying it's going to be a flop from the very day the project is even conceived? It's already dead in the water', the frustrated actress said in an interview during her 'Confessions' world tour. However, the internationally acclaimed singer is not turning her back on any career whatsoever in Hollywood. As she said more than a year ago, directing is something she would like to try, hopefully with more success than acting. Now, movie-based hollywood.com site announces that the singer is already hard at work on a directing job, hinting that Madonna might have reached this decision because of the influence her husband, Guy Richie (a very-well known British director), had on her. Madonna's trip as director begins, according to the same source, with 'Blade to the Heat', a boxing drama that focuses on the story of 'the 1959 bout between Emile Griffith and Benny "Kid" Paret'. In fact, Paret died in 1962, after a fight with Griffith. The post announcing the movie features the singer as director, while her company, Maverick Entertainment, is listed as producer. As it is already known, this is not the first time that Madonna tries to make a break in the movie industry. Her more acclaimed roles (and, at the same time, the ones that got the most critical appraise) are 'Desperately Seeking Susan', 'Dick Tracy' and 'Evita'.
