14 DAY TRIAL // Coachella 2015 is now in full swing at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, which means that most young celebrities and even older stars are there, getting their hippie on at the festival. Madonna was also in attendance the other day, but she was there for business: she made a surprise appearance during Drake’s set.
However, because she’s Madonna and she’s pretty unpredictable, she veered off script, and when Drake was comfortably seated in her prop chair, she planted a wet one on him. With tongue, by the looks of things.
Madonna kisses a flailing Drake
You can see this segment of the performance in the video below. Madonna was performing “Human Nature,” and it looked like she caught Drake off guard when she stopped singing, grabbed and pulled his head back and started smooching him.
During the kiss, he was either flailing to get her off or he was trying to get even more touchy-feely. Our money is on the former, because, when Madonna finally let him go and walked away from him, you can tell he leaned forward with a clear look of disgust on his face.
Either that or she bit him. The bottom line is that people online had a blast with this moment, which was supposed to be “hot” and turned out the very definition of “awkward.”
The most commonly made jokes were that Madonna was trying to suck Drake’s soul through his mouth, since it’s a known fact that she likes only young men. Apparently, this is how she stays so youthful-looking and energetic.
The kiss was ok but the lipstick not so much
Obviously, Drake too was criticized for his involvement in this moment, which many still believe was staged for publicity purposes. After all, both he and Madonna have new albums out, and she is famous for getting publicity for being scandalous.
Sources close to the Canadian rapper tell TMZ that, despite what you might read online, the kiss wasn’t staged. In fact, he had no idea what Madonna was planning to do and no, he didn’t really like it, because she wore lipstick that tasted really bad.
When she let him go, Drake wasn’t reacting in disgust to the kiss but to the lipstick, as it left an awful aftertaste, the sources say.
As for Madonna, as you can see in the Instagram she posted some hours ago, she really doesn’t care if you hate her, because if you do and yet you continue to watch her, that makes you a fan. She wins either way.
