The Queen of Pop has passed the test of time in terms of her appeal to the public, as both her music and her image have never ceased to attract new fans. Now, rumor has it that competition is coming from the most unusual of places, from her own 12-year-old daughter, Lourdes, of whom Madonna is reportedly jealous for growing up to be a beautiful woman that will steal her thunder.

Madonna is doing all she can to turn back the hands of time and keep her youthful appearance, by sticking to her Spartan workout routine, paying close attention to what she eats and, as of late, also trying out some plastic surgery, it has been suggested. Nevertheless, soon enough, her daughter Lourdes will grow up to compete with her for the spotlight, sources tell OK! Magazine, and this is something that Madonna simply can’t stand.

“I think Madonna can’t stand that Lourdes is growing into a beautiful teen. She seems envious of her youth and looks. She knows Lourdes is going to be gorgeous and will get [all] the attention. Knowing Madonna’s taste for younger guys, it’s a matter of course that they’ll be dating men the same age. It’s disturbing.” an insider claiming to be close to the iconic singer tells the mag. As if knowing this was not enough, the source adds, Madonna is also trying to prevent her daughter from growing up for as much as she can.

“Not surprisingly, the superstar is desperately trying to keep her daughter in a permanent state of girlhood. Last year, the beauty team on Madonna’s Sticky & Sweet Tour had strict orders not to touch Lourdes’ bushy eyebrows. ‘That was a battle Madonna eventually gave in to,’ the source says. ‘Lourdes recently had them shaped.’” OK! further writes.

Moreover, it seems that this has been going on for quite some time, from what spies are telling the mag. At a Gucci gala in February last year, Madonna reportedly refused to have a hairdresser do Lourdes’ hair because “she didn’t want her daughter to look better than [s]he,” another source explains for the magazine.
