Tracy Anderson reveals what it’s like working with Her Madgesty

Madonna is in great physical shape and perhaps one of the most dedicated celebrities out there when it comes to staying that way and not piling on the pounds. She spends a couple of hours every day training in the gym, and she even has the “planet’s hottest personal trainer,” Tracy Anderson, to help her out with tips and recommendations.

Anderson, who shot to international fame for working with Madonna and several of her closest friends, including actress Gwyneth Paltrow, is doing a media tour to promote her workout DVD and, as expected, she’s also open to discussing about working with Her Madgesty.

From what she tells the British publication The Mirror, Madonna might be the one wearing the pants in all aspects of her life but, when it comes to training, she’s quite docile and the ultimate “gym nerd,” never doing anything that Anderson would not approve of.

“I said to her, ‘I’m going to be bringing crazy equipment into your house, and you can’t work with anyone else.’ So she dropped all her other training and committed to me. She doesn’t tell me what she wants to achieve with her body – I tell her. She trusts me, so she does it.” Anderson says for the aforementioned publication.

In many ways, Madonna is the best pupil any trainer would ever want, from what Anderson is telling. “She’s the most docile, sweet, quiet little student. She’ll follow everything I want. Madonna never slacks off. She’s like a gym nerd.” the trainer explains.

As noted above, the singer works out at the gym every day of the week, and Anderson could not imagine it otherwise. She shares it’s “not healthy” to not work out, which is why she has zero-tolerance for slackers. Luckily, Madonna is not one of them, as she’s the most dedicated pupil the trainer has ever worked with – and her well-toned muscles stand as proof of this.

Speaking of which, Anderson mentions that, in what concerns Madonna and her reportedly manly muscles, the camera does lie. “Her arms are actually teeny tiny in real life! Here [in a photo] she’s just come out of the gym, and I’ve just done really awful things to her arms which make the muscles swell afterwards. So all these paparazzi shots make her arms look much more muscular than they really are. I personally love the definition Madonna has on her arms. I work them really hard, but I want them to be tiny too, so we never lift anything more than 3lbs.” Anderson adds.
