The media has been on Madonna overload recently, and it probably won't stop any time soon, not until the singer's new album comes out, at least. We've seen the pop queen on the cover of just about every major magazine lately, and read about as many interviews as we could handle, which helped us "discover" lots of interesting bits and pieces, scattered around and mixed with the trademark shameless self-promotion that has earned Madonna much of her current fortune and profile as pop music icon. Most of us have skimmed through the interviews to the real highlights (I'm not talking about the artist's die-hard fans here) - Madonna's comments about her sex life and her relationship with her husband.
"I had to marry a challenge because otherwise I would just get bored," she reveals for the U.K. issue of Elle. "Whatever else Guy is, he's never boring ... We're both there to help each other and challenge each other." Madonna also states that some of the songs on her new album have been inspired by her relationship with her director husband, most notably "Miles Away" (in which she is said to express her sadness at having to spend so much time apart from Ritchie) and "Incredible", in which she brags about their sex life and sings "sex with you is incredible."
"So many people have to deal with long-distance relationships. It's not easy. You have to work hard to make it work," she adds, after claiming that her seven-year-old often controversial marriage inspired her to openly confess herself sexually fulfilled by her husband. "Sex with Guy is incredible ... And surprise, surprise, it's his favorite song on the album. Actually, maybe it's not his favorite song, but it's definitely his favorite line," she comments while pretending to be surprised by the interest taken by the media in the state of her marriage. "I'm sure people aren't that interested in my marriage. Posh and Becks are much more interesting," she claims, before adding: "I'm not going to be defined by my age. Why would any woman? I'm not going to slow down, get off this ride, stay home and get fat. No way!"
