As I reported earlier today, Madonna was one of the many celebrity guests at the GLAAD Media awards. Besides presenting Anderson Cooper with the Vito Russo award, Madonna also held a passionate speech against violence, hatred and discrimination.

She also slammed the Boy Scouts of America organization for preaching just that by not allowing openly gay scouts and leaders.

Check it out in the video above, but *please note that some discretion is recommended when viewing it because of language that might offend.

“I wanted to be a Boy Scout, but they wouldn’t let me join,” Madonna said. She dressed as one for the occasion, to make her point.

“I can build a fire. I know how to pitch a tent. But most importantly, I know how to scout for boys. So I think that I should be allowed to be a Boy Scout and I think they should change their stupid rules,” the singer added.
