Since 2003, Madonna has had all sorts of musical ups and downs, being especially loved by the media. She also started some scandals, most notably through the political overtones of her 2003 album, "American Life", which was a commercial failure but was hailed for its innovations and courageous anti-war themes. Her remix EP released soon after was also a flop but that did not discourage her at all.
Despite these minor failures, she kept working hard and totally blown away both critics and public with the hot "Confessions on a Dance Floor", one of the best selling music albums of all time, which went to number one in over 41 countries and sold a dazzling number of nine million copies. Wow...but that's not all! Her "Confessions Tour" made about $260 million and is considered one of the most successful tours ever made by a female artist in history.
Her latest enterprises include headlining the "Live Earth" concert in London, writing some more children's books, directing a movie, producing a humanitarian documentary and working on releasing a new album and a box set marking her 25'th anniversary in the music industry. That's a lot of work for the princess of pop, but she can very well handle everything, along with her army of helpers.
It is also fun to mention that she recently told reporters that, if they want an interview, they should memorize all of the questions and never lose eye contact with her. She apparently wants to intimidate the interviewers, but the reason why she'd want that is still a mystery. The reporters were also forbidden to ask about her family life and personal (and controversial) religious beliefs.
Regarding her latest album, she seems to have selected a few producers and collaborators, everyone speculating big names from the industry, like Pharrell, Justin Timberlake and Timbaland. This is going to be a blast and we only have to wait until November to get our hands on this amazing product. The date though is not 100% certain and is subject to change at the whims of the superstar. So be on a lookout folks, and hope that her promotional tour passes by your house!
