EA has just announced that it will be bringing its blockbuster Madden NFL Football franchise next year on the Nintendo 3DS, with special features and a lot of regular game modes.

The Nintendo 3DS is shaping up to be one of the biggest handheld consoles of next year, as it will be supported not only by Nintendo, but also by many of the biggest third-party publishers in the world.

EA is continuing its already announced support for the new handheld and has just revealed that it will be launching its successful Madden NFL Football franchise on the new device.

Madden NFL for the 3DS will offer a "comprehensive" handheld experience, with different modes like 11-on-11 football, 5-on-5 and Season Mode.

In order to really enjoy the 3D technology, new features like Spotlight Moments and Call Your Shots will be added, the latter of which allowing you to draw your own strategies, right on the 3DS' touchscreen.

All users will be satisfied by Madden NFL Football on the 3DS, as it will have three types of playing: GameFlow, Classic and Arcade.

"GameFlow automatically selects the best play for the situation based on real NFL team gameplans; streamlining play calling and shortening overall game length for a more accessible experience. Classic play call allows users to experience the full depth of selecting formations and individual plays, while Arcade play call simplifies options through a more concentrated playbook," revealed EA's press release.

Madden NFL 3DS will have 32 NFL teams and stadiums, as well as an optimized 3D experience with specific cameras and depth level options.

Expect the game to arrive on the Nintendo 3DS in the first half of 2011, as the device will be launched in Japan next February, and around the rest of the world in March.

Until then, thanks to a new Doritos promotion, you can enjoy a special 3D experience with Madden NFL 11 on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
