The development team at EA Sports announces that it is eliminating all representations of Aaron Hernandez, a player for the New England Patriots, from both NCAA 14 and Madden NFL 25 after he was charged with murdering another football player.

PlayerAttack quotes a statement from the company saying that, “We have made a decision to remove Aaron Hernandez from Madden NFL 25 and NCAA Football 14. Because NCAA Football 14 was finalized prior to our decision, Hernandez’ image still appears in the Nike Skills Trainer.”

Those who unlock the reward will get Alex Smith to use in their Ultimate Team instead of Aaron Hernandez.

The player has not yet been convicted for the murder and his trial continues.

It will be interesting to see how EA Sports reacts if Aaron Hernandez happens to be acquitted of the charges.
