Madden NFL 2005 is video game that focuses on American football, developed and published by EA Sports, the label in charge with any sports game made by Electronic Arts. The title features the Baltimore Ravens star linebacker Ray Lewis on the cover, and has gained quite a lot of critical acclaim for its new improvements. It is currently the eighth best selling game in the United States, where it is most popular.
The title introduced quite a lot of new features, including the Hit Stick that, when pressed, made the character of which the player had control give hard hits, in order to remove the ball from the arms of another character.
Madden NFL 2005 also brought forward a very interesting feature into the Playmaker control, where the actual spirit of the team affected how the game would evolve. Players also had a Create-a-fan mode, where they could make a custom character, which would support their favorite team.
The game has been often blamed for focusing extensively on the concept of defense to level the playing field, which makes the opponents struggle at key points, and impedes them from scoring. Additionally, quite a few graphics have been found as being unrealistic, as they made some players (most notably offensive lineman and defensive lineman) look very large.

Passing
If you are playing in season mode, to get more passing yardage use Directional mode. It will show when a receiver is open, and you can still throw the ball when a receiver is not fully open.
Select M. Sherman's playbook and use the Shotgun Double Flag play. Make sure that passing is in normal mode. When you snap the ball, wait for the right receiver to run his route (when he is coming back to the right) and throw a bullet. This will usually get a first down.
