Probably the only game that puts a curse on the man on its cover

Madden NFL 2003 is an American Football video game. It features former St. Louis Rams running back and current NFL Network host Marshall Faulk on the cover. This edition of Madden was the first to feature the NFL MVP on the cover. Marshall Faulk, who appears on the cover, suffered from ankle injury in the 2003 NFL season, making him miss five to six games. This would further be attributed to the Madden curse. The Madden Curse, also known as the Madden Cover Curse, is a myth involving the video game series Madden NFL, stating that during the season a player appears on the cover, he will be cursed with either an injury or poor performance. Before 1998, the cover included only an image of John Madden.

Players who have appeared on the cover in subsequent years have generally failed to reproduce their success of the previous years, for a variety of reasons. Marshall Faulk, Daunte Culpepper, Michael Vick, Donovan McNabb and Shaun Alexander all have suffered injuries in their season appearing on the cover. These performances and injuries resulted in speculation of a curse. The "Madden Curse" has evolved into a much-reported phenomenon, with several news and sports media outlets referring to it as a phenomenon on par with the fabled Sports Illustrated Cover Jinx.

Secret Teams and Stadium
To get the secret teams and stadium below, please do the following:

Dodge City Stadium - Have a save on your memory card from another EA Sports football game to unlock.

Marshals - Have a save on your memory card from another EA Sports football game to unlock.

Mummies - Play Madden NFL 2003 with the same memory card as an EA Sports racing file is on. Then you will have the Mummies for use.

The Mummies - Have a saved game file from any EA Sports racing game on your memory card and they will be available.

Barry Sanders - Get Gold in All-Madden Ground Attack Drill (Mini-Camp) to unlock.

Deion Sanders - Get Gold in All-Madden Swat Ball Drill (Mini-Camp) to unlock.

Jan Stenerud - Get Gold in All-Madden Clutch Kicking Drill (Mini-Camp) to unlock.

John Elway - Get Gold in All-Madden Pocket Presence Drill (Mini-Camp) to unlock.

Kevin Butler - Get Gold in All-Madden Coffin Corner Drill (Mini-Camp) to unlock.

Mike Ditka - Have a save on your memory card from another EA Sports football game to unlock.

Mike Singletary - Get Gold in All-Madden Chase and Tackle Drill (Mini-Camp) to unlock.

Reggie White - Get Gold in All-Madden Trench Fight Drill (Mini-Camp) to unlock

Steve Largent - Have a save on your memory card from an EA Sports racing game to unlock.

Steve Young - Get Gold in All-Madden Precision Passing Drill (Mini-Camp) to unlock.
