Video game developer EA Sports is announcing that Madden NFL 16 is now officially being promoted, with gamers able to take part in the cover vote for the American football sim, which is designed to allow fans to get their favorite athlete on all the promotional content for the title.

The company explains that initially gamers will choose between four of the best playmakers by actually playing matches, and then the two most popular of them will compete in a final round on EPSN on May 13.

The official announcement states, "Here are your four choices for Madden NFL 16 cover athlete. From spectacular catches to shutdown cornerbacks and electrifying return men, these four playmakers represent the excitement of the modern-day NFL."

Gamers will have to choose between Odell Beckham Jr. from the New York Giants, Antonio Brown, who plays for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Rob Gronkowski of the New England Patriots, and Patrick Peterson from the Arizona Cardinals.

The voting for the semifinals will end at 3 AM Eastern Time on Monday, May 11, and one day later, gamers will be able to see who the finalists are.

The special edition of SportsCenter, which takes place on Wednesday, May 13, at 6 PM ET, will serve to announce the winner of the Madden NFL 16 cover vote.

Gamers can vote using both console and mobile versions of Madden NFL 15

Fans will be able to use the Ultimate Team mode in Madden NFL 15 to vote, getting access to a special collectible for each day, which they can use to create cover sets, one for each of the included athletes.

Gamers will also get a special Vote Collectible the first time they log into the Madden NFL mobile app each day.

They can use them to complete sets and vote as many times as they want, and there are also live events fans can take part in.

EA Sports has so far offered no information on the gameplay mechanics that it plans to introduce in Madden NFL 16.

The company has been conducting motion capture and facial capture for the title, and there are also rumors that Ultimate Team will be tweaked in some significant ways.

At the moment, Madden NFL 16 does not have an official launch window and more details about it will be offered during the E3 2015 event.
