The development team at EA Sports is ready to reveal a new challenge mode called The Gaunlet, which will be part of the new Madden NFL 15 and is designed to offer an interesting difficulty level even for those who have mastered the rest of the title.

The studio explains that "Every five levels players have to take on a boss battle, which will present the game in a completely unique way. For instance, in your very first boss encounter you’ll be challenged to kick a 110 yard field goal in 220 mph winds! How is that even possible? Jump into The Gauntlet and find out for yourself."

EA Sports is not yet saying what the rest of the boss battles in the American football simulation will ask the player to do.

The new game in the long-running series is designed to improve a number of core features, including the way defensives work, while using an improved version of the Ignite engine to deliver more realism both in terms of physics and overall presentation.

Madden NFL 15 will be out on August 26 in North America and three days later in Europe on the Xbox One, the 360, the PlayStation 4 and the PS3.
