Gamers can use the player to boost their own squads

The development team at EA Sports announces that Madden NFL 15 is set to become the first title in the long-running franchise to allow gamers to recruit and use the legendary Bo Jackson, one of the players who has defined the way American football is played and enjoyed by fans.

All those who will log into the Ultimate Team mode of the game or the mobile companion between December 22 and January 1 of 2015 will be able to get access to a special rookie Bo Jackson item to be used on any squad in order to deliver a limited time boost to stats, which will only be active until the end of the week after the initial download.

A new Solo Challenge is also being added to Madden NFL 15 in order to give gamers a chance to experience the speed and power of the player and see how he has changed the game.

It's unclear whether EA Sports has plans to deliver a permanent Bo Jackson item for Ultimate Team or how it will use the star in the future.

The company does say that it is planning to introduce more surprises for fans in the coming weeks and advises all fans to continue to keep an eye on its social media presence in order to get first info on what they have planned.

The developers are saying that the new mechanics of Madden NFL 15 have been well received by players and that one of the most important elements, the play calling, has seen solid improvements.

They add, "Fans can call plays with confidence thanks to an all-new crowd-sourced recommendation engine built from millions of online games played by the Madden NFL community.  Add in all-new NFL Films inspired presentation and it’s not just football, it’s Madden Season."

Madden NFL 15 has a Holiday Edition

The introduction of Bo Jackson to Madden NFL 15 is clearly designed to make the American football simulation more popular in time for Christmas, when the game becomes popular both as a gift and as a personal purchase.

A Holiday Edition of the title is being introduced on digital stores, in a move which was also applied to the FIFA series.

Madden NFL 15 continues to be one of the most important titles in Electronic Arts’ line-up, although its Ultimate Team mode seems to be less important than that of the European football sim from the company.
