Madden NFL 13 Gets Calvin Johnson Cover Shot

Video game publisher Electronic Arts has revealed the first image with the official cover of the upcoming Madden NFL 13, featuring Calvin Johnson, who was voted by fans as the player best suited to promote the game.

The selection process started with 64 players and took seven weeks, with close to 20 million fans of the franchise and American football taking part.

Calvin Johnson, officially Junior, is nicknamed Megatron and is currently playing as a wide receiver for the Detroit Lions.

He was drafted in 2007 and has since then become one of the most important players for the team.

The player recently received a new contract with his team, which made him the best paid player for his position in the NFL.

Madden NFL 13 will be launched on the Xbox 360 from Microsoft and on the PlayStation 3 on August 28.

Versions of the game will also be delivered to the Nintendo Wii and the PlayStation Vita handheld.
