A simulation created by EA Sports using its own Madden NFL 12 video games has predicted that the New York Giants will win Super Bowl XLVI, beating the New England Patriots by 27 points to 24.

EA Sports has used the Xbox 360 version of the game to create the simulation and the video game developer says that it has used a number of updated states and that it plays close to real life in order to get as close to the result that will be registered on Sunday as possible.

The Madden NFL 12 simulation says that the game will be filled with drama after an early period when the Giants manage to achieve a significant advantage and get a lead of 24 to 10.

Two quick fire touchdowns from quarterback Tom Brady are set to get the Patriots back into the game, with the Super Bowl tied with just under two full minutes to go.

Lawrence Tynes, who is a kicker for the New York Giants and was signed for free in 2001, is the one who decided the simulated Super Bowl XLVI with a 40-yard field goal in the dying seconds.

Eli Manning got the Most Valuable Player award for completing 25 passes, scoring two touchdowns and managing an interception.

EA Sports is eager to emphasize that the Madden NFL series has been used to correctly predict the results of the Super Bowl game six times in the last eight years.

It is interesting to note that one of the misfires happened during 2008 when the Giants and the Patriots have last met in the game.

The Super Bowl game is often forgettable when it comes to the actual game, but it has become a major occasion for spectacle and advertising, with companies willing to pay the biggest per-minute price in the world in order to reach a large audience.
