We already know that Drew Brees will be on the cover of Madden NFL 11, with fans probably hoping he will be able to break the dreaded curse that is said to be linked to it. We also know that the game has an official launch date of August 10 but close to nothing about how the people at EA Sports are planning to change the gameplay when compared with Madden NFL 10. Today, the company revealed a new tagline and some details on upcoming modifications.

The slogan EA Sports is pushing for Madden NFL 11 is “Simpler, Quicker, Deeper,” which might seem a bit counter intuitive at first sight. The developers at the EA Tiburon studios need to create an experience allowing for more matches to be complete in less time than before while also adding more features for the hardcore simulation crowd.

Madden NFL 11 will be using a new system called GameFlow linked to how plays are called, permitting more authenticity with the computer creating what the developers are calling a “situational game plan,” which takes into account the team, its strengths and its situation on the field.

Quickness will be added through the same GameFlow system with the claim that less time will be spent looking at the playbook and more actually directing actual gameplay. EA Sports is saying that matches can now be completed in half the time it took in Madden NFL 10.

The videogame is also set to introduce fresh animations for the most interesting moves, better control options, more online options and a fresh broadcast presentation, allowing for a deeper experience on the part of those fans who want to be immersed in the atmosphere of the NFL.

Here is a trailer showing off the new features:
