Electronic Arts has used the power of the new and ready to launch Madden NFL 10 to see how the upcoming National Football League will shape up in the coming year. And if the videogame is to be believed, the New England Patriots and Tom Brady are set to again dominate the competition. The Madden series has been used to make predictions before, even accurately announcing the result of the Super Bowl last year.

The company has put out the season awards as simulated by its game and the results are as follows: NFL MVP – Tom Brady, New England Patriots; Offensive Player of the Year – Tom Brady, New England Patriots; Defensive Player of the Year – Patrick Willis, San Francisco 49ers; Offensive Rookie of the Year – Mark Sanchez, New York Jets; Defensive Rookie of the Year – Brian Orakpo, Washington Redskins; Coach of the Year – Andy Reid, Philadelphia Eagles.

In the season simulated with Madden NFL 10, the Pittsburgh Steelers, Tennessee Titans and San Diego Chargers won their divisions in the AFC, while the Indianapolis Colts and the Baltimore Ravens were the winners of the Wild Card spots. Despite the very good performance of Mark Sanchez, who was the best offensive rookie, the New York Jets did not manage to get into the playoffs.

In the NFC, Andy Reid gained his Coach of the Year award by winning the division with the Philadelphia Eagles with the Arizona Cardinals and the Atlanta Falcons doing the same. The New York Giants and Carolina Panthers took home the Wild Card spots.

It will be interesting to see whether the predictions made using Madden NFL 10 will become true but, given the fact that players will need to wait a bit for it, it might not matter. The game is arriving on all possible platforms on August 14.
