The hit TV series “Mad Men” on AMC is set to conclude in 2015 and, from the looks of things, that's also the time it will end for good, as there are no plans for a sequel or a spinoff in the works.

It was believed that “Mad Men” would get the same treatment that several other series from AMC have gotten, most famously “Breaking Bad” and “The Walking Dead,” both of which have spinoffs already in different stages of production.

But creator of the show Matthew Weiner had a chat with TV Guide and he claimed that he had no plans to continue the 60s drama. “For Mad Men, there is no sequel, I completely rule it out,” he said, crushing any hopes fans might have had about keeping the story alive past the finale.

The main argument in Weiner's explanation is that he believes they will have “exhausted this world” by the end of the scheduled 92 episodes, leaving them no reason to continue the story or pick it up somewhere else.

“I don't know what's going to be on my mind when the show is over but there is no plan to revisit this world,” he said. “I have no intention of doing more of this,” Weiner concluded.

The final season of “Mad Men” is set to be aired in two parts, the first premiering on April 13 this year, and the second half set for the spring of 2015.
