Avalanche Studios have been pretty quiet about their Mad Max game, with its initial reveal during E3 2013 not offering very much information.

During Gamescon 2013, the developers have spoken about upgradable arsenals and persistent hostile weather patterns, but not much else.

Now it seems like the post-apocalyptic adventures are coming our way on May 31, 2014.

An earlier rumor was started when Avalanche Studios' president, Christofer Sundberg, briefly stated on LinkedIn profile that a “first licensed game, developed based on a well-known movie license” was scheduled to release in April 2014.

Now, the date was leaked from a major retailer listing, and according to iGR, the purported date doesn't fall into the normal placeholder date scheme, and Mad Max is also the only title on the document that hasn't yet received a proper release date.

May 31 does fall on a Saturday, but we can only keep our fingers crossed.

Mad Max is currently scheduled to land on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, on the yet unconfirmed date of May 31, 2014.
