Remakes might speak volumes as to the level of originality now to be found in Hollywood but, every once in a while, comes one that really manages to get fans hyped. Such is the case of “Mad Max: Fury Road” or “Mad Max 4.”

Starring Tom Hardy (pictured above sporting a grisly beard he’s believed to have grown specifically for the part) and Charlize Theron, the film is now shooting in location in Namibia.

It’s still in production stage, but trouble has already reared its ugly head, The Hollywood Reporter says, prompting Warner Bros. to dispatch a studio representative on set to bring it back on track.

“According to sources, the production has veered off schedule and is running over budget. And Warner Bros. is making sure the problem doesn't escalate,” THR writes.

But Warner Bros. has got this covered.

“Studio head Jeff Robinov flew to the Africa set a few weeks ago to evaluate the film, which sources say had fallen at least five days behind schedule,” the report notes.

Whether these bumps in the road will affect the release schedule in any way is as yet unknown.

Directed by George Miller, the film has been many years in the making. It’s scheduled for a tentative release in 2013.
