Peripherals come out all the time, but some mice and keyboards deserve a second look even if you still won't end up buying them. I dare say that the M.M.O.TE Gaming Mouse from Mad Catz is an example of that.

The design alone will earn some raised eyebrows, even though it has been used before on multiple occasions.

What really stands out is the sheer number of buttons that litter the surface of the peripheral. There are many more than you have fingers on both hands.

Then again, this is a mouse for massively multiplayer online games. You know, games where characters have a whole bunch of different abilities that you can activate at any time. Abilities that can form chains and combos.

There are 20 programmable buttons in total, with 60 programmable commands, all stored onboard.

In addition to that, the Mad Catz M.M.O.TE Gaming Mouse boasts an 8200 DPI sensor, fully adjustable and with dynamic surface detection. Everything is held inside a frame made of lightweight materials, to ensure minimum inertia (100 grams / 3.5 oz without the cable).

Unfortunately, the company did not say when sales would begin or for what price. The official website has the mouse pegged as “coming soon.” Professional e-Sports players are the intended customers.
