Consumer flash drives usually get manufactured out of multi-level cell (MLC) NAND Flash memory chips, but Mach Xtreme chose to build its ES Series out of SLC (single-level cell) enterprise-class memory instead.

SLC NAND has a higher performance than MLC and a longer endurance as well, plus a better tolerance for cold and hot temperatures.

As such, the MX-ES USB3.0 Series has significant resistance to shocks and vibrations, as well as high read and write speeds.

The transfer rates vary according to storage capacity, but the highest possible are 170 MB/s read and 185 MB/s write. Indeed, assuming the press release didn't get the numbers mixed up, the write performance is higher than the read speed.

Mach Xtreme offers 5-year warranties with all the new drives. The prices are of €19.90 / $19.90-26 (8 GB), €29.90 / $29.90-39 (16 GB) and €49.90 / $49.90-65 (32 GB).
