The new PCI Express solid state drive collection from Mach Xtreme isn't the fastest I've ever seen, or the one with the most capacity, but it's more than decent in terms of both.

Made for the PCI Express 2.0 x2/x4/x16 slot, the newcomers are 128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB and 1,024 GB SSDs powered by SandForce controllers.

It is thanks to those controllers that the maximum sustained data read speed is of 850 MB/s and the top write speed is of 800 MB/s.

Meanwhile, the random 4K performance is of 100,000 IOPS (inputs/outputs per second).

Add to that a life expectancy of 2.5 million hours and an operating temperature of 0-70 degrees and you don't need to worry about much when building your server.

TRIM, RAID 0 support, DuraClass, RAISE Protection and Garbage Collection technologies are all supported as well.

The new Mac Xtreme MX-Express PCIe SSDs sell for €310 / $421 to €1450 / $1.942.
