In case you weren't up to speed with current events, former child actor Macaulay Culkin, made famous by `90s movies such as the “Home Alone” series and “Richie Rich,” started his own rock band some time ago, which he wittily called the Pizza Underground.

The Pizza Underground is a cover band which bases its songs on hits of the Velvet Underground but somehow always makes them about pizza. Apparently, all the members of the band share a mad passion for eating pizza.

Well, that madness came to an abrupt stop as the band played on the stage of the Dot To Dot Festival in Nottingham, England, over the weekend. It seems that the crowd didn't share the same appreciation for pizza and quickly began booing the people on stage.

The Telegraph has obtained video footage of the incident, showing the Pizza Underground trying to fight off some of the detractors by switching to another song. The futility of their maneuver is quickly revealed as, 15 minutes into their set, the band is forced to leave the stage as the audience begins pelting them with beer cans.

One of the band members was surprised by this move and can be heard shouting into the microphone, “you're throwing away beer, that's just stupid. You should drink it.” They did leave the stage in a hurry after that, though.

Later, on their official Twitter page, the Pizza Underground has addressed the incident but has seemed to be in good spirits about it: “Thank you so much Nottingham and dot to dot. Sorry that a couple people ruined it for everyone.”
