Macaulay Culkin was the first child in Hollywood to make $1 million (€733,353) for a single movie, but he famously lost the bulk of his estate in the bitter custody trial between his father Kit and his mother Patricia Brentrup. Kit is now dying, according to new reports, and the two never reconciled.

TMZ reports that Kit, who is 69 and has not spoken to his famous son since the ‘90s, is now in a hospital in Oregon, after having been rushed there for a “massive” stroke. He is in intensive care, surrounded by friends and family, but doctors are not very optimistic about his condition.

“[He] has lost almost all of his motor functions and the prognosis is not good. Sources tell us family members have been summoned to the hospital,” TMZ writes.

In a separate post, the same media outlet claims to have it on good authority that, before the stroke, Kit had desperately tried to get in touch with Macaulay to mend the broken bridges between them. He wanted the feud to be over and, says the e-zine, he may now never have the chance to do that.

“Kit told family members he wanted to repair his relationship with Mac. […] We're told Kit was trying to get Macaulay's number – telling family members to pass the word on to his son – but they never connected,” the report notes.

It doesn’t say why Kit would have waited so long before even thinking of taking appropriate action to make things alright with his son again, but it does say that Macaulay has been on the road a lot in recent months and, because of it, has not been in touch with most of his family.

After a while since all reports claimed that he was doing heavy drugs and had but months to live because of his raging addiction, Macaulay is now admittedly clean and touring with his band The Pizza Underground.
