And probably the best part is that they only sing about pizza

The Velvet Underground tribute band is actually called the Pizza Underground. That's for a genuinely legitimate reason: they only sing about pizza! And to top it off, they also feature former child-star Macaulay Culkin as a member.

The former “Home Alone” actor fell out of grace with the media a very long time ago and has had a difficult battle with drugs. At one point, there were even rumors that Macaulay had only months to live because of his addiction, but he's still here, and now he's a rock star.

The term “rock star” is used lightly because the tribute band for the Velvet Underground isn't nearly as famous as its name-sake, nor does it aspire to be. Proof of that is the parody of the name to include pizza.

Even the songs that this tribute band plays are in one way or another related to pizza: “I'm Beginning to Eat the Slice,” “Waiting for the Delivery Man” or “Pizza Day.”

True to their obsession, the band's Tumblr page contains numerous parodies of Velvet Underground art work and also Andy Warhol, that have been “pizza-fied” to correspond to their needs.

Although the band got together in February 2012, before Velvet Underground frontman Lou Reed passed away, it's unclear whether the singer actually got to know of their existence.

What is clear, however, is that Macaulay Culkin is alive and well and managed to find at least 4 more people who share his love for Velvet Underground and pizza and that they all came together to make a rock band.

Even if it might be a little bit unsettling for many to see that blond boy from “Home Alone” as a gritty, bearded rock star, Macaulay seems to fit in well with the other pizza aficionados and it seems like a good diet too, because they all look fit. Must be in the topping, because, as an image on their page says, they don't prefer “anchovies & mushrooms.”
