In August 2012, after Macaulay Culkin was photographed a couple of times looking incredibly gaunt and sickly, rumor had it that he was addicted to heavy drugs and, according to one particular report, dying. He is now looking healthier than ever.

Culkin has been spending most of his adult life out of the spotlight, focusing on various art projects and generally avoiding unwanted media attention.

So, when he was first photographed looking less like his former self, many assumed it was because he wasn’t really taking proper care of himself: a bad but not that uncommon situation, if you think about it.

Shortly afterwards, word that he was a drug addict had spread, with the National Enquirer even claiming that he had about 6 more months to live.

The Daily Mail is also running with the addiction story, but only to report now that Macaulay has overcome it and is now appearing to be back in top shape.

The usually media shy actor stepped out over the weekend at the New York City Comic-Con 2013, on the Robot Chicken Panel, which also included Matthew Senreich, Seth Green, and Breckin Meyer.

As photos available at the link above can confirm, Macaulay was looking better than ever: he seemed to have gained some weight, was looking healthier and was in an excellent mood.

The photo attached to this article is of the before-and-after type, with Macaulay when he was at his thinnest and the other day, in New York.

“Culkin looked rather dapper in his smart and trendy ensemble of dark blue jeans and blue blazer which he teamed with a snug fitting white tank top. The eclectic star accessorized with various mismatched bracelets and rings and wore a long chain that resembled rosary beads against his chest,” the Mail writes.

The tab also notes that he looked more muscular as well, which could mean that he’s been hitting the gym regularly, perhaps in a bid to stay on this healthy track.
