Wireless upgrade cards are now available for owners of an older Mac, from the folks at MacWireless. The company has also announced an AirPort Card Trade-In Program for 11g PC and PCI cards that work with the AirPort drivers built into Mac OS X. As an AirPort owner you can now upgrade your Mac's wireless capabilities for less than 20 bucks!

Another advantage is the fact that MacWireless' solution works with the AirPort drivers built into Mac OS X so you won't need to update your software once you've upgraded with a more powerful card.

From the company's web site: Purchase any MacWireless product, return your AirPort card and receive a $50 rebate! Or trade in your AirPort Extreme card for a $20 rebate. Please note that we cannot refund more than the amount of your purchase. In the case that the amount of your purchase is less than the rebate, we will refund the entire amount of your purchase.

In order to benefit from this offer, users must do the following:

1. Purchase any MacWireless product at regular price from MacWireless. 2. Remove the AirPort card from the computer and send it to MacWireless. 3. Once MacWireless receives the AirPort card, the company issues a $50 ($20 for AirPort Extreme) credit to your credit card.

MacWireless also notes that your AirPort card must be in "working condition" but also include the "AirPort and FCC labels" to be eligible for MacWireless' AirPort Trade-In Program.

So, if you're interested in nabbing yourself a brand new MacWireless 11g PC or PCI card, you can send your old AirPort Card at 1310 Ninth St. Berkeley, CA 94710.

Detailed instructions on how to remove your AirPort card are available in the DIY section of Apple's website right HERE. You will be required to provide your serial number and country, as well as warranty information about your product and choose your service options.
