Macware has just updated its invoice and billing application, MacFreelance, to version 2.0.8. The new release adds improved compatibility with Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard, a new first-launch wizard and other enhancements. Version 2.0.8 also resolves previous formatting issues with negative value currency. A free trial of MacFreelance is available right HERE.

With MacFreelance you can create & maintain client lists, set up multiple companies to bill from, add fixed or timed charges, bill in hours, minutes, days, weeks or months, manage project timelines, track payments, make a .Mac or a local backup, save reports as PDFs and more.

The project timer, customizable invoices, report generation, mileage tracking & reporting, tax and international currency support, and the integration with Address Book, iCal & Spotlight are more useful features included with MacWare's invoice and billing app.

As mentioned above, the improved compatibility with Leopard isn't all that version 2.0.8 delivers. While a negative value currency formatting issue has been fixed, help has also been improved, with a new first-launch wizard also being added. Smaller tweaks are also included with the latest release of MacFreelance.

MacFreelance may sound like it's a lot of fuss, with all the functions it sports, but it's not. For instance, to add a payment, users must first select the client who has made the payment. If the payment being made is an outstanding payment (not a deposit), then you have to select the project in the client's project list, or otherwise skip to the next step. Users must then select 'Add' from the 'Payments' menu, choose the payment type from the 'Type' drop down and, finally, enter the amount they have paid in the 'Amount' box. That's it! You've just paid someone their salary!

MacFreelance costs $39.99. Purchasing MacFreelance gives you free access to Macware's online technical support located right here.
