Synium Software has updated MacFamilyTree, a powerful genealogy application for Mac OS X. MacFamilyTree 5.4.0 is now available for free download for existing users, and as a demo for new users.

According to the release notes for MacFamilyTree 5.4.0, the genealogy program adds Web Page Export. The app now displays a Context Chart on every person page, showing close relatives for the selected person. Also new is the availability of a Kinship Report on each person page. All sources in a tree file are exported including citations, adding to the completely new web page design and enhanced workflow. Additional and improved themes are available, while web pages can now be exported in different localizations. Tree Statistics are available for each web page as well. Additional changes include (highlights):

MacFamilyTree helps you document, store, and display information about your family, while drawing and printing family trees, lists, cards, heritage charts, descendant charts and genograms. You can also include multiple partners and people of the same relationships, and export HTML data to build a web page, although this is not the only export option available.

The program's native file format is GEDCOM 5.5. Users of MacFamilyTree can visualize the migration of their ancestors  over the centuries (and continents) using Google Earth to research geolocations as part of Synium's new multi-pane GUI. With the release of MacFamilyTree 5.2., Synium added a powerful 3D view to the Virtual Tree.
