New internal code names for a bunch of new MacBook Pros indicate that a minor revision is on the way, possibly with Bluetooth 4.0 technology and a processor speed bump, according to a new report.

Constrained MacBook Pro stock coupled with findings by the Cultofmac’s Mr. X suggest there will be a major revision to the MacBook Pro lineup soon, albeit not a major one.

The Cupertino giant is refreshing the notebooks if only just to add a bunch of new technologies, and slightly faster processors, the blog notes. The quoted source has been accurate in the past, so there is a high degree of confidence in the report.

In addition to the possibly higher-clocked CPUs, Apple’s next MacBook Pros are also expected to get Bluetooth 4.0 technology, a spec that can theoretically send and receive signals some 50 meters away.

A change in design is not expected until later next year.
