While the new iMac and mini have been pretty much free of any manufacturing issues, the MacBook Pro, has, ever since it came out, been accused of having various faults. The faults range from display whine, processor whine and hard drive whine to overheating and Airport issues. Whether or not these problems exist is a moot point, there have been enough different users reporting them, however, it is important to note that there have also been many users reporting a lesser degree of these problems, to the point that they are not really problems for them.

Many people have been standing up and saying that these are serious issues that need to be addressed and are speaking against Apple for not coming clear
about them. While Apple has been replacing and repairing the machines, it is important to remember one thing: the user. Every user is different, and as such, the problems they are experiencing are different. Many have complained about the heat issue, while many others say the MacBook Pro is not hotter than the other Mac portables. Certain commonsense questions need to be asked. Are the people who report excessive heat issues very intolerant of high temperatures? Have they ever used a portable before, to know that it is normal for such a thin and densely packed device to become hot?
The same applies for the whine. Many people have stated that their machines does whine, but it is such a small whine they can only hear it when in utter and absolute silence. All computers emit sound. All hard drives emit sounds. Hearing varies fro person to person. Can it be that some people's ears are simply more sensitive than others?

The scope of this is not to defend Apple. If there are indeed issues, they need to be addressed, however, it is important for the customer to realize that it might simply be a normal thing, which, due to their own particularities, they are experiencing as being very unpleasant. The heat might not bother one person, while being unbearable to another, all the while the actual temperature being the same.

As far as Apple addressing the issue, they have been improving the model ever since it came out. There are many revisions of the MacBook Pro, and they can be identified by the product serial number: serial numbers starting with W8612 is revision E, serial numbers starting with W8611 is revision D and serial numbers starting with W8610 is revision C. Apple is aware of the heat and Airport issues that have been reported, and they have made improvement to minimize these occurrences to the point where they should no longer be an issue in any revision higher than C.

What you are saying is that maybe people are not being objective, that it is just a opinion. Well, I got a MacBook Pro 2.0 and a friend of mine also got one. My MBP makes noise my friends MBP doesnt.
I think this is not a opinion. This is a fact.
