Apple is offering refurbished Macs and iPods for special prices. Apple refurbs meet Apple's premiere quality standards. Their defective components have been replaced with genuine Apple components and are as good as new. The products are cheaper, ship with documentation and everything, and are covered by Apple's One-Year Limited Warranty.

A white MacBook refurb goes for just $1,099. Refurbished Macs ship with Mac OS X Leopard.

Refurbished iPod nano 8GB ? Silver

Apple says it is offering this nano at a "special" price - $149.00. Well, it does hold up to 2,000 songs, offer 24 hours of music playback and up to 5 hours of video playback, so the price is more than fair, given that Apple guarantees there's nothing wrong with the device. The 8 gigger ships with Apple earphones, USB cable and Dock adapter. The iPod nano 8GB weighs 1.74 ounces and measures 2.75 x 2.06 x 0.26 inches.

Apple Certified Refurbished Products are pre-owned Apple products that undergo Apple's stringent refurbishment process prior to being offered for sale. These products have been returned under Apple's Return and Refund Policies.

Some units are returned due to technical issues, while others are shipped back to the Mac maker for different reasons. However, all units undergo Apple's stringent quality refurbishment process. This means the product is fully tested, it is refurbished with replacement parts for any defective modules identified during testing, it is put through a thorough cleaning process and inspection, repackaged, and placed into a Final QA inspection prior to being added to the sellable refurbished stock.

Note that refurbs include the operating software originally shipped with the unit and the custom software offered with that system.
