As if Microsoft and Vista didn't get battered enough in Apple's latest Get a Mac ads (Bean Counter and The V-Word), the Cupertino-based continues its mocking parade with a new commercial, Bake Sale.
Reminiscent of Apple's recent Bean Counter ad, featuring PC throwing huge amounts of cash into advertising rather than Vista's issues, Bake Sale takes a similar approach delivering a message as clear as daylight: Microsoft is wasting too much money on its already-unsuccessful advertising campaign.
PC reveals that he's now trying to raise money to fix Vista by having a Bake Sale. Of course, this is not the case over at Microsoft (not by far), but again, Apple is just trying to make a point. Mac is blown away by the fact that PC himself was left in charge with raising the cash. PC reveals it is a last resort since their “marketing guys” wasted all the company's money on an “expensive ad campaign”. And since PC's problems “don't seem to be a priority to them,” the poor guy had to take matters into his own hands. Thoughtful as always, Mac offers to buy a cake, thus contributing to fixing Vista's problems (man, Apple is so wicked!). PC encourages Mac to take a bite before telling him the price he'll have to pay for it. As soon as Mac sinks his teeth into the cupcake, PC boasts out that a bite of Vista's problems goes for roughly 10 million dollars. You can actually see that swallowing that cupcake becomes increasingly difficult for Mac with every second.
Microsoft, as some of you may know, has recently kicked off a $300 million ad campaign to counter Apple's Get a Mac ads. The Silicon Valley Windows maker has had very little success with the ads, prompting Apple to give them their final blow.
