Apple fans are trying to give their operating system a new look

A lot of new concepts have been proposed in the last few months, mostly for the Windows platform, and quite a few are very similar with stuff already found on Linux, but now a new Mac OS X concept has surfaced and, guess what, it’s also similar with a Linux desktop.

The Windows and Mac OS X fans who are trying to innovate by proposing new types of desktops and themes are not taking into consideration the fact that Linux developers have been doing this type of innovation for a long time.

This is just the case with this Mac OS X concept, initially reported by our colleague from the Apple department. Granted, this is a very clean, minimalist, and beautiful concept, but it doesn’t feel original.

Linux users will recognize elements similar with the ones found in GNOME and the Geary email client. Most of all, the entire concept looks a lot like the default desktop experience used by elementary OS 0.2, which has been launched a for a few months.

Another Windows 9 concept was also proposed a short while ago, and it too came with some GNOME 3 look-alike features.

These similarities are not intentional, most likely, but this can only mean that we have finally found the limitations of the current desktop design and that a paradigm shift is needed.
