Tom Ferris, a hacker but also a security researcher at Mission Viejo, California, found several flaws in
Mac OS X and warned Apple about the high risk of these defects, informs Washington Post.
Seven separate security vulnerabilities have been found, which could be easily used by a hacker in order to run any kind of program he chooses on the defenseless Mac system.
"Apple is basically becoming a bigger target, because researchers are realizing the potential impact is higher than it was before because more people are using it," Ferris said.
It is said that Apple will fix the problems at the next security update release. Ferris said for the Washington Post that he has notified Apple in January, but, until now, the manufacturer couldn't come up with a viable solution, as it has other seven urgent security flaws to fix. These ones were founded in
iTunes and QuickTime.
"When you think about how many millions of people bought iPods last year ... finding bugs in applications like that has a huge impact," Ferris said.
