The NeoOffice Team has announced the release of Patch 3 for version 3.1.2 of its productivity suite for Mac, confirming the removal of certain pieces of code “that might fail when run on Apple's upcoming Mac OS X 10.7 Lion release.”

It is not clear how the team at NeoOffice managed to conclude that Lion would not be compatible with the suite, but they do specifically state that some code alterations were necessary to avoid any potential incompatibilities with Apple’s next-gen desktop OS.

“Since we released the last NeoOffice 3.1.2 patch in early December, we have been busily fixing any significant bugs reported by our donors,” reads a post signed Patrick, Fran, Ed, and Tim - The NeoOffice Team.

“To ensure that NeoOffice users have the most stable code available, we have fixed all critical bugs reported by our donors and released NeoOffice 3.1.2 Patch 3,” the NeoOffice Team continues.

The authors encourage NeoOffice users to download version 3.1.2 patch 3 from the NeoOffice patch download page (also available from Softpedia), outlining the following bug fixes included in this release (emphasis ours):

- NeoOffice's export as PDF code has been changed to produce significantly smaller PDF files than before

- NeoOffice's copy, paste, drag, and drop code has been reimplemented to remove all code that might fail when run on Apple's upcoming Mac OS X 10.7 Lion release

The Team encourages those who have any support questions to check out the NeoOffice Support page where they can find a list of suggested steps for finding an answer for a problem as fast as possible.

“Since over half of our donations come from a very small percentage of our users, we can only provide support to our most generous donors in our NeoOffice forums,” the NeoOffice team concludes.
