A report citing two separate sources, both connected to Apple in different capacities, claims to have learned the official OS X Lion release date. On the same day, Apple will also be launching new MacBook Air computers, these people added.

Cupertino has already confirmed July as the timeframe during which OS X Lion is to be released.

The company headquartered at 1 Infinite Loop is widely believed to have prepared updated Macintosh models, including beefed up MacBook Airs which, according to the sources quoted by Apple’N’Apps, will be used to promote Lion on July 19th, when both these products are to be released.

The information allegedly comes not from one, but “two different reports from sources that corroborate each other,” says the blog.

Though independent, both sources are connected to Apple in different capacities, the blog says, and they requested that they remain anonymous for obvious reasons.

The July 19 date is what these people referred to as an ‘internal’ launch date, meaning this is the ‘target’ date under which Apple is operating.

Both sources admitted that this may well change, should something not go according to plan.

However, if everything does go as planned, “there will be a new MacBook Air shipping with Lion starting July 19th,” the sources specifically noted.

Attempting to add credence to their report, the blog says they have relied on these particular Apple connects in the past.

Of course, there’s no one to say this report isn’t entirely fabricated.

Pretty much every site on the web can pick a Tuesday (Apple’s preferred weekday for product refresh announcements) in the month of July and call it the OS X Lion release date.

For now, all we can do is wait.

When it’s finally released, Mac OS X 10.7 Lion will be available for download exclusively through the Mac App Store on Macs running the latest version of Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6.8).
