Apple this week released Mac OS X 10.7.1, an incremental software update to its latest operating system, Lion. The release delivers a number of specific fixes and enhancements for MacBook Air laptops and Mac mini desktop computers.

Apple’s Mac OS X 10.7.1 does well to address general operating system issues for all Macs, such as an issue that may cause the system to become unresponsive when playing a video in Safari, or one that may cause system audio to stop working when using HDMI or optical audio out.

The list of general fixes can be found here.

However, the release also addresses a few specific issues for specific Macintosh computers, according to the technical notes posted on apple.com/support.

For instance, the update resolves an issue where MacBook Air may boot up when MagSafe Adapter is attached.

This patch, along with a fix for an an issue causing intermittent display flickering, is targeted at MacBook Airs shipped in 2011.

Also shipped this year is an updated version of the Mac mini. Now equipped with a Thunderbolt port and Sandy Bridge processor, the 2011 Mac mini is suffering from an issue that causes the SD card slot to run at reduced speed with SD and SDHC media.

According to the company headquartered at 1 Infinite Loop, Cupertino, California, Mac OS X 10.7.1 will resolve this issue on both Mac mini Servers, and Mac mini computers with an optical drive.

OS X Lion 10.7.1 Update for MacBook Air and Mac mini 2011 (Client) is a 68.86 MB download from Apple’s Support area (or from Softpedia), or via Software update from your Mac’s Apple menu.

The same goes for OS X Lion 10.7.1 Update for Mac mini 2011 (Server) only this one is a heavier download weighing in at 78.11 MB. Also, this update applies to server-centric Mac mini systems only (lacking an optical drive).
