In what seems like somewhat of a turn of events, Apple has seeded its developer community with a new build of OS X 10.5.7 Leopard, adding another five fixes to the list including issues with AFP volumes, Bluetooth stability and crash reporting and logging, World of Apple reports.

Upon handing build 9J50 to developers last week, Apple was thought to be preparing for the official release of Mac OS X 10.5.7, the latest maintenance and security update to Leopard. World of Apple itself now notes that, despite many expecting the previous build to be the one to see a public release, Apple has issued a new build, labeled 9J56, adding new fixes, while listing the same issue regarding the inability to install the Safari 4 Beta.

The site (courtesy of which the seed notes for 9J56 are available for your reading pleasure) also documents the release dates for previous updates to Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. The table reveals that the latest three updates (10.5.4, 10.5.5 and 10.5.6) have been released on Mondays (highlight ours).

10.5.1 = Thursday release 10.5.2 = Monday release 10.5.3 = Wednesday release 10.5.4 = Monday release 10.5.5 = Monday release 10.5.6 = Monday release

As such, Apple may be gearing up for a (10.5.7) launch with a similar timing, according to the systematic display of release dates. The seed notes for Mac OS X 10.5.7 Build 9J56 (excluding issues fixed in previous seeds) can be found below.

A combo update is reportedly being worked on as well, addressing issues with Leopard versions 10.5.6 down, along with a “Security Update 2009-002,” said to address “Tiger” issues, according to an AppleInsider report.

Safari 4 Beta only installs on Mac OS X 10.5.6.
