Apple has seeded the second build of Mac OS X to testers, packing 24 bug fixes, bringing the total current number of fixes to over a hundred in the latest version of Leopard (OS X 10.5.5). Most fixes are aimed at Address Book, Mail.app and Leopard's syncing features. According to World of Apple, developers are also asked to focus on Directory Services, Fonts, mDNSResponder, Screen Sharing, and X11, besides the elements requiring attention in the latest build.

The first OS X 10.5.5 build (9F5) seeded to developers included notes saying testers should take extra caution when installing the initial version of the software. In fact, developers were advised against installing Mac OS X 10.5.5 build 9F5 on Macs that contain integrated graphics chips. Apple asked developers to focus on a dozen and a half core system components, like AirPort, FileSync, the Finder, graphics drivers, iCal, iChat, Networking, Text Services, Time Machine, and ExpressCard & USB modems. Some 80 bugs of Mac OS X 10.5.4 were addressed in the first build of 10.5.5.

Significant issues fixed in 9F5 were kernel crashes in Dashboard or with physical memory addresses larger than 4GB, multiple problems with iCal that include events, scripting, syncing, and several glitches with networking and printer sharing, with text handling also being improved.
